Our aim is to answer all your questions right here on Dermaroller Planet. If you cannot find your answer, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact us page and one of our customer service team will do their best to help.
Which needle length to get
This is the most common question we get. The answer can depend on what you are treating, where you are rolling on the body and generally how tolerant you are to any potential discomfort. We give guidance as to what to choose on all of the individual dermaroller treatment pages or there is an excellent guide to choosing dermaroller needle lengths on our partner shopping site – just follow the link to help you choose.
Buying a Dermaroller
Dermaroller Planet is pleased to partner and recommend Ultramod Shop.com for all dermaroller purchases. This our trusted and recommend place to buy securely online and there you will find the widest range of rollers at the best possible prices with high levels of support and information. You can get to Ultramodshop.com by following the link here, on the sidebar to the left or by following the links throughout the Dermaroller Planet.com.
How do I use the Roller
This can be as simple or as complicated process as you wish to make. it Some users are very specific about the frequency and methodology as well as the after care products they use. Some, take a far more relaxed approach, fitting it in with the daily/weekly personal grooming regime. Our only specific recommendation is to ensure you moisturize after rolling. We provide a guide to using a Dermaroller on our instructions page.
What are Dermarollers used for?
Visit our Dermaroller Treatment Page for a breakdown of all the treatment areas. Briefly, these comprise of
Acne Scar Reduction
Wrinkle Removal
Stretch Mark Removal
Scar Reduction
The use of the dermaroller boosts the effectiveness of topically applied gels and creams. If you are using such a product, by also using a dermaroller you can increase their effectiveness many times over. This is ideal if you are undergoing appropriate hair loss treatment or cellulite reduction treatments using creams and/or lotions.
How long before I see Dermaroller results?
Depending on what is being treated, how often you use the derma roller and the needle length you use, results will begin to be noticeable within a week for minor treatments (stretch marks, fine lines etc) and around a month for more challenging treatments such as scars/acne scars. Everyone’s skin and situation is unique and you r natural response time could be shorter or longer the the next person.
What creams should I use.
You may well have a cream or lotion that you already use and trust. We suggest continuing to use this. If not, any moisturizer is sufficient and there are no specific requirements to use any expensive lotions or potions. Dermarolling is likely to dry the skin, hence the need to use some sort of moisturizer. It should be noted that rolling reduces your skins tolerance to the suns harmful rays for at least 24 hours after rolling so take sensible precautions with regards sun screen/covering up/staying out of strong sunlight.
Can I roll whilst pregnant.
Yes. We’d also recommend using either Bio Oil or Coconut Oil in conjunction with the skin needling. These are available in you local pharmacy/supermarket and also in the skin care section at our recommended online dermaroller shop.
How do I thank you for all this great information
Actually, we never get asked this – but if you do wish to support/thank us for providing all this information on Dermaroller Planet, please either buy your roller from UltramodShop.com (besides the fact it is the best place to shop, we receive a small commission which goes towards running Dermaroller Planet) or simply link to us on your website, chat forum or social media site. Just copy and paste our web address at the top of your browser. Thank you.

I have pited acne for many years. i am a black African woman can this device help me.
Atieno, yes it can certainly help.
The Dermaroller is safe to use on all skin types. You may wish to send in pictures of your scars so that our nurse can quickly check over whether using a dermaroller is suitable in your particular case. Assuming that there is no other type of scarring to be concerned about, the pitted scars should respond well to the treatment no matter how long you have had them.
You’ll probably want to choose a 0.5mm dermaroller although you may want to get some free advice on this. We’re always here to help you make the right decision when choosing which dermaroller to buy.

Do we need a special kind of numbing cream before using dermaroller? Or is it just ok to use it directly after washing face without putting any kind of cream? will this hurt? I will have my hubby use this and he has pitted scars. Is using sunblock really needed?
You don’t need to apply a numbing cream. It is used in clinical treatments as they press much harder with the device which would cause serious discomfort. Using the Dermaroller at home means pressing much more lightly (but doing the process more often). If it does hurt when you are using one, reduce the pressure or use a shorter needle length.
As for the sunblock, just take sensible precautions. If it is a dull autumn day, then no, you won’t need sun cream. If you are out and about on a hot summers day, then increase the factor that you would normally use.
Hi! I started getting bad acne when I was pregnant. The acne has left scars that are sightly indented and noticeable under certain lighting. I have become very self concious and feel people are looking at my scars and not me. My scars are about a year old and they are on my lower cheek. Will the dermaroller work for me and if so which type do I need? Please reply soon.
Regards Abbey
Hi Abbey.
I’m sure it’s not the case that they are looking at your scars rather than you. I do appreciate though that these sort of things can make you feel self conscious
It would certainly work for you. In terms of brand, I’d go for either the Dr Roller (expensive bit very good) or our new range (yet to go on the site yet at this point but watch this space!) – the Medic Roller. Both have narrow needles so are ideal for use on the face.
Whilst the Medic Roller is not as well built as the Dr Roller, they are much less expensive. £33 compared to Dr Roller £51.
You should be going for a 0.5mm needle length.
Hope this helps Abbey. You have our email address lookinggood@dermaroller-planet.com if you have any other questions.
Could you tell me which length needle I should go for and which device. My aim is to tighten and improve my skin texture. How close to the eyes can I go, can it be used in the eyebag area or just the crows feet?
Hi, I would like to know if the Dr Roller will help with lines around the eyes and also lines by the chin area. I see it helps with wrinkles but I would like to know if it treats lines the same as wrinkles. Thank you, Judy
how often can i use the derma roller , once a week or every night , i will be using on my face
You can use it every day if you wish. Most people find a routine which suits their own lifestyle and regime.
We do include instructions with every order which people tend to use as a general guide. It is a common approach that for the first couple of weeks, the rollers is used 5 days out of 7 (taking a weekends break) by which time results have already begun to start showing. After that, you may reduce the times that you roll as the healing process will continue at a steady rate.
Of course, everyone is different and I am sure you will find a routine which is right for you. We are here if you need help at any time.
I’ve just purchased a Dr Roller from you to treat my acne scars, im using it 5 times a week. I know that it lasts 3 – 6 months but how will i know when not to use it any more? Also you say to clean in disinfectant once a week when using gently but ive put it in diluted disinfectant after every use just to make sure its always clean, is this ok?
Marie
You’ll know partly by looking at the needles (are they becoming misshapen) and partly by feel. (Is it becoming less comfortable) A bit like when you use a razor blade, you tend to be able to feel that it is starting to fade. Now you can still use it even after this time and we hope by then, you’ll have achieved most of what you set out to do.
Every day cleaning is fine. No problems with that at all.Our instructions are a guide and don’t have to be taken as the only way to do things. Everyone tends to make up their own routines to fit in with their own needs. As long as your taking a common sense approach to things you’re fine. Nothing wrong with having a roller that’s too clean!
Thanks Marie
I have thick strecth marks from being pregnant. Will this make them disapear. Also what needle length should I use?
Hello Faye,
Yes, they certainly work on stretch marks – they do so very well. It is perhaps the most common reason for buying one and you should be seeing a difference within the first week/fortnight of using one.
In terms of needle length, it depends slightly on where on your body you are treating, how fleshy that area is and to be honest, how sensitive you are to the sensation. Generally, most people opt for either a 1.0mm or 1.5mm. We are happy to give you more specific advice at any time as well as help in suggesting suitable models.
Thanks Faye
my children suffer from acne. can they use dermaroller to help get rid of current acne and blackheads or does it have to be used afterwards only for the scarring?
No, it can only be used to reduce the appearance of scarring. It is in no way going to help stop spots. In fact, rolling on active Acne Outbreaks is not advised even for those trying to get rid of acne scars.
Sorry Maria, I know how tough it can be suffering from acne – who’d be a teen eh?
I have stretch marks everywhere… Can dermaroller be used while nursing? Do I need to apply cream before using it or may I keep on using my palmer’s stretch mark lotion? thanks
Hi Anna.
Yes, they can be used at any time – whether you find the time to do it as well as looking after a baby is another question
Keep on using your Palmers product. Stick to what you know and trust and you should see an improvement in it’s effectiveness as well as the increase production of collagen. If you want the most affordable roller for stretch marks, go with the ZGTS Titanium and choose a 1.5mm needle length.
hi
I was wondering I have a darkened area on my thigh which I am wanting to lighten to blend in with my own skin tone, I am currently using Danne products to help with this pigmentation, can I use the roller with these products and which needle length should I use?
Sharmeem
Choosing a roller to compliment topical application of transdermal products (in English that is creams that you rub in
)is fairly simple. Just go for a short needle length – a 0.2mm is fine for that. It doesn’t cause any discomfort and it’ll make a big difference to the effectiveness of any product that you are using. I’d suggest going for the MTS Roller – It’s a good quality roller and a lot less expensive than some of the other premium brands. Follow the MT Demaroller link to go into the Ultramodshop where you can buy on-line. It is of course also available on Dermaroller Planet but you’ll find the shopping cart site a lot more user friendly.
Thanks Sharmeen
Hi there,
I have stretch marks on my inner thigh, hips and stomach. I have also had a operation on my underarm which left a big scar. I’m not to bothered about that at the moment but it has left little where the bandages were as i scrathed. I also have laughter lines and wrinkles which i need help with. I have been looking at this website for ages and now i’m going to give it a go! what needle lenght should i go for as i want to use it every day 5 times a week>thanks
Hi Tina
Really you need different needle lengths for the lines on your face and for the stretch marks on the legs and stomach etc. (The soft bits
)
Basically, where the skin is fleshier, you are more easily able to use a longer needle. So for the soft bits either a 1.0mm or 1.5mm is fine. We would suggest that most people go for a 1.5mm but it could be uncomfortable to use. Some say no pain no gain but if you are worried about potential discomfort, choose cautiously and go for the 1.0mm. You will get used to the sensation however and most people build up a tolerance to it. We are always around once you are up and running to hep you adapt your technique to minimise discomfort so don’t get too overwhelmed – it’s what we are here for.
For the face, because it is a lot more sensitive than the soft bits you’ll need a much shorter needle and the most common choice is a 0.5mm. There are some “schools of thought” that would go even shorter than that but a lot of people who do buy a very short needle length often come back and get a longer one – It’s not a race though so take your time – I’d suggest that a 0.5mm is ideal.
What I’d say to you is go for just one roller now – a 0.5mm. That’ll give you an idea of what to expect. If you get on well with it and want a second roller, you’ll know exactly what needle length would be right for you. Drop me an email before you buy the second and I’ll make sure we give you the multi roller discount on the second roller so you will be no worse off at all. Just a suggestion and your choice entirely. You might want to go to our improved shopping cart which is at http://www.ultramodshop.com. It’s a lot easier to compare brands etc on there. It’s still the same team behind that site and Dermaroller Planet so you are in safe hands.
Drop me an email if you need help choosing between brands. We provide unbiased advice and we are not tied to any one manufacturer at all. I hope all this helps Tina.
Thanks Tina.
Hi there, thats great thanks for the quick email. Ok so if i went for the 1.5 can i use that 5 times a week? i guess i’m more worried about the stretch marks and light scarring so woudl like to get that sorted.
which brand would you recommend? are they FDA approved etc?
Thanks tina
Hello
I would like to take derma roller treatment either at some clinic or do it myself. Kindly suggest some good clinic in Mumbai, India.
Also, do I need to use numbing cream before the treatment? As it is very hot in Mumbai, do I need to take special precautions after the treatment.
My few acne pits are deep, so how many sessions do I need take? When will I get to see the results?
Kindly provide your valuable inputs.
Thanks
Sweta
Hi Sweta
We don’t have any clinics in Mumbai yet that we work with. We’re building our network up all the time though and will let you know when we do.
You don’t have to use numbing cream although some do choose to. It’s a personal choice and we’d suggest that you start without. Take you time with it and don’t press too hard the first few times you roll. You’ll find you’ll become used to the sensation and hopefully avoid the need for numbing agents. Little and often the key and with a little patience you’ll be fine.
You should take some sort of precaution from the harmful affects of the sun. Your natural defences to UV rays are reduced after rolling for around 24 hours afterwards so it’s better to be safe than sorry in sunny climates. (Very rarely a problem in the UK
)
The amount of sessions you’ll need will vary depending on many factors – choice of needle length, the pressure applied and of course your natural response to the process which differs from one person to the next. Acne scars can take a while to begin fading sometimes compared to other treatments. We’ve had customers take as long as two months to see a difference. Others have started to see a difference within a couple of weeks. There is of course also the chance that you simply won’t get any change at all – we don’t want to pretend that this is a “miracle” cure. It can be tough for some people to get the same level of results that others get and we like to be upfront as possible about this. It is rare for a complete failure though but as long as you know all the possible outcomes you will be able to make your own mind up.
Thanks Sweta.
Hi
I have just purchased 2 derma rollers 1 x .2mm and 1 x .5mm. Can you recommend what creams I should be using on my face. My aim is to remove wrinkles around the eyes, tighten my neck, jowls and face in general. Looking for the ultimate dewy skin
My skin is dry with a slightly oily forehead and chin
Look forward to your advise
Nadia
I have quite a bit of acne scars on my cheeks…If though they are not very deep like other i’ve seen. I would still like to reverse them. Also I have the number 11lines on my forehead and slight wrinkles…Which brand and what length should i get. I do not need anything that will cause me to miss work… Thanks
Can i continue using my regular skincare line as well with Derma Roller?
Hi Horace.
I would highly recommend the MNS 0.5mm roller for your face which will be suitable for both acnes scarring and wrinkles. The MNS is an excellent brand which is good value for money and you wouldn’t really want to go higher than 0.5mm for the face. Hope this helps.
Thank you Horace.
Roanna Freestone (Registered Nurse & Beauty therapist)
what creams are best to use with the dermaroller? especially for acne scars?
Hi Nadia. We sell bio-oil on our website- http://www.ultramodshop.com. Bio-oil is a very good brand which is used for wrinkles, stretch marks, scars and dehydrated skin on the face and body. You can use your regular skincare line. I would just recommend using a cream which is good for anti-ageing so would therefore help to prevent wrinkles. Hope this helps. Thank you Nadia
Hi Horace. For your face, I would recommend using the MNS roller at 0.5mm. MNS is a very good brand and is excellent value for money. We always recommend using 0.5mm for the face. With any roller, it will cause slight redness to the skin but this will fade within 1-2 days. You can use your regular skincare line with the roller, though I would recommend using an anti-ageing cream as you stated that some of your concerns were forehead wrinkles. Also for acne scarring, bio-oil is an excellent brand. Bio-oil can be purchased on http://www.ultramodshop.com. Hope this helps. Thank you Horace.
Hi Nora. At the moment we are a little limited in advice on facial creams but we are planning on adding more facial and body products onto the website in the near future. We do sell Bio-oil on our website. It is a well known brand that is used effectively for wrinkles, stretch marks, scars and dehydrated skin. You can purchase this from our website: http://www.ultramodshop.com. Hope this helps. Thank you Nora
i’m checking out the MNS brand and it says that 1.5mm is recommended for acne scars (which is my current problem and some fine lines under the eye area) but i’ve also read here that 0.5 is recommended for the face. which should i choose for me? i have a high tolerance for pain so is 1.0mm okay for both the cheek and around the eye? thanks!
Hi Leah. Dermarollers are effective for stretch marks. We would recommend MNS 1.5mm for that area of the body. We also strongly advise to use the dermaroller on alternate days, e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday or Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Having a day off in between rolling will allow the skin to heal itself. The easiest site to order your dermaroller is: http://www.ultramodshop.com. Hope this helps. Thank you Leah
Hi MJ. It is recommended that people should use either 0.5mm or 1.0mm on the face. If you have a high pain threshold, I would suggest using the 1.0mm. Use the dermaroller on alternate days, e.g. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Having these days off in between rolling days will give your skin chance to heal itself. If you require any more information or wish to purchase, please visit: http://www.ultramodshop.com. Thank you MJ. Kind regards. Roanna Freestone (Registered Nurse and Beauty Therapist)
Hi. Once you achieve the results you want, do you have to continue using the roller? Do the results disappear if you stop? (With the exception of wrinkles of course. One can only keep those at bay for too long) But for everything else, like scars and such, do those reappear if you stop using the roller after you achieve the results you want??? I have yet to see ANYONE ask that question ANYWHERE. If you can please let me know, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
Hi Sirena. You are correct, with regards to wrinkles, after you have achieved the results, you would still have to use the dermaroller now again to ensure that you are preventing the wrinkles from returning. In terms of scars rolling should not need to be repeating following the desired results. Once stretch marks have faded, if you didn’t want them to return, you would have to be careful with your lifestyle (low fat diet and plenty of exercise as stretch marks occur during weight gain. If someone was to become pregnant, they should use products like Bio-oil to prevent stretch marks from occurring. Thank you Sirena.
Kind regards

I have acne but mild and it has improved drastically. However, due to simple too much pressue and pain, it has left an indented pitted scra in the middle of my left cheek. It is the same colour as my skin tone however I wish to even it out. I have been using the derma roller I purchased form my beauty clinic for almost a year now and yet, there seems to have been little, if any improvements on the depth of the indent? I do not use the rooler often, at least once a month, and Im wondering, if I perohaps used it more regularly, would ti make any differnece? Is this tyope of scar able to benfit form the roller? I also have a raised scar on my foot which I have also used the roller on and throughout continous use, that scra has almoat gone completely. I was told that my face scar wioiuld be the same, as it is failry small and not awfully pitted as such, only under some lights, such as angles in daylight. Please help! xxxxx
Hi Ellie. Dermarollers are recognised as being very effective on acne scars. It is recommended that the dermaroller is used 3 to 4 times a week, making sure that you use it on alternate days to allow the skin to heal itself on the days off, e.g. use it on: mon, wed, fri, etc. Also make sure you use a cream or oil after using the dermaroller. The cream or oil will help to fade the scar and the dermaroller will allow better absorption of the cream or oil. We sell a few creams on http://www.ultramodshop.com Such as Green people vitamin fix, Green people eye gel, Bio-oil and Health aid vitamin e oil. Have a look at the website to gain some information on these products. Be patient with the dermaroller, sometimes it takes a bit of time. Everybody’s skin is different. Hope this helps.
Thank you Ellie.

Thanks for such a quick reply.
I think perhaps thats it, maybe bI just havne’t used it reguraly enough Ive gone months without using it. So……maybe this would make a differnece. Its not to deep either but it is at certain angles, I use Rose Hip Oil on it? and vitiman E moistoriser anyway? butgt maybe the rose hip oil isnt successful. Itrs just i read further up that it doesn’t do anything for pitted scras? So I thought perhaps my scar was permantm, which of course may be the case, I don’t know! Is Bio oil bad for your skin? Becuase I read that it contained somehting that was considered bad for your skin especially for teenage acne prone skin. xxxxx
Hi Ellie.
Vitamin E moisturiser sounds perfect. Dermarollers are known to work on pitted scars, scars from operations, etc. We haven’t heard of any reports that Bio-oil is bad for the skin. However if a teenager is prone to acne I would suggest that they don’t use an oil based product as they probably already have oily skin. Be patient with the dermaroller.
Good luck with it.
Thank you Ellie
well I dont use that as my cream or anything to get rid of the scar? I use it as a genral miostorise, but I use Rose Hip Oil for the scar, which doesnt seem to have made a differnce. I may try my miostriser though. Thank you for your kind advice. Xxxx
You’re welcome Ellie. If you are struggling with your moisturiser, you could try one of our range of skin car products that we have selected. They are all 100% natural and organic skin care products – they are a little expensive though and I’d suggest sticking to products that you already trust.
Thanks Ellie
and….one more question, Im really sorry! But…do you think the roller would make a differnece to pitted scarring? Becuase it’s not very deep to be perfectly honest, its quite shallow? xxxxxxxx
plus Ive read several times that vitiman E amkes no differnece to scarring? xxxx
Hi Ellie.
Dermarollers are known to be effective on many types of scarring, such as from operations, injury, acne scarring, etc. The deeper the scarring, the more difficult it is to get results from home based treatments. Acne scarring and pitted scars generally respond well to home based needling.
Vitamin E is an important part of providing optimal conditions for scar healing. It is unlikely going to be enough on it’s own to make any difference, but in conjunction with skin needling (or as part of a vitamin enriched moisturizer) it is a good complementary product.
If you have a product that you already like and trust, keep on using that. We do have a range of 100% organic specialist skin care products on offer on our sister site, Ultramodshop.com
Thank you Ellie.
Hi…thank you for being a very good source of information!
I have a couple of questions…first,I use the 1.5 mm roller for acne scars…and usually I use cleansing and cream with glycolic acid in them…can I use them right after or when can I get back to them? also I see different info on sunscreen and makeup, some say not until 3 days after rolling cause it can really damage the skin, these products were not meant to be going in so deep into the skin…while some say sunscreen is good right after…
warm thank you,
Bianca
Hi Bianca.
If I am correct, Glycolyic acid exfoliates the skin so I would personally not use the cream on the day of using the dermaroller as both of them together may be too aggressive for the skin. Use it on the days off from using the dermaroller – rolling alternate days to allow the skin to heal itself and recover from the treatment, e.g. use it Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun, etc.
It is fine to use sunscreen after using the dermaroller. This is important as the skin will be more sensitive to the UV rays. I would not use make-up immediately after rolling – but you roll at night before going to bed, this will not be a problem.
It’s not really relevant but we do offer a range of natural 100% organic make up products from Dr Hauschka. They are available on our new shopping cart as are all the dermarollers and skin care products we offer. Just thought I’d take the chance to plug the make up –
Thank you Bianca

Hello Marla.
We highly recommend the MNS roller because it is excellent value for money. For the face, I would recommend using a 0.5mm dermaroller. For areas underneath the eyes, it is important to roll downwards only (NOT UPWARDS) to avoid damage to the eye. Ensuring that you are very careful. The 0.5mm roller can also be used on the décolleté area. For areas of stretch marks, e.g. thighs and stomach, it is best to use a 1.5mm roller. Hope this helps. For any more information on dermarollers, please visit: http://www.ultramodshop.com.

Hello Meggie
Dermaroller can be effective on loose skin. For the upper arm area, we recommend a 1.0mm dermaroller. For the thigh area, we recommend a 1.5mm. The dermaroller brand which is best value for money is the MNS. If you require anymore information regarding dermarollers, please visit: http://www.ultramodgroup.com.

hello, i really need you to help me with this. its been three years back i was having a lot of pimples which got over leaving a lot of scars on my face. i went through a number of fractional laser treatments, say around 6 sittings, which did not do me a lot of favour. but yea, there were improvements. lately around 3 months back, my doctor told me about the derma roller thing, and i’have had 4 sittings allready(one in every 20 days). i can see improvements for sure. What i want to know is, is it possible to get a really clear skin back by this treatment? what if i go for around 4 more sittings (1 sitting every 20 days) will I see another drastic improvement? or will the improvement slow down with increasing number of sittings? I have really minute scars which r hard to see, but in light they appear really bad. should i go on having more and more sittings? or should i just think, this is all the treatment could give, and not go ahead with more.
will be awaiting your reply.
Hi Nikhil
I m a qualified nurse and beauty therapist and perform professional dermaroller treatments throughout the UK (visit: http://www.dermaroller-planet.com) and I personally believe the dermaroller treatments to be very effective. I provide a minimum of three treatments to my clients, one every 6 weeks, to allow the skin to repair itself after the dermaroller treatment. Even after you have had all the required dermaroller treatments, your skin will continue to repair and regenerate itself many months afterwards. You will continue to see results. If it was me, I would continue with the dermaroller treatments. On my dermaroller training day, the doctor said that the maximum number of dermaroller treatments is about 6 and the minimum is 3 treatments. For information on dermarollers and professional demaroller treatments in the UK, please visit: http://www.dermaroller-planet.com or http://www.ultramodshop.com. Hope this helps.

hi
I have a variety of pitted scars on my face like icepick , rolling and boxcar scars.
Can you tell me which dermaroller is suitable for me??
Will 0.5mm is sufficient enough or i should go for 1.0mm dermaroller ??
Hi AJ
Generally we recommend that people use a 0.5mm dermaroller on the face, however if you felt like you weren’t getting the results with the 0.5mm, you could try the 1.0mm. If you are based in the UK, we offer professional dermaroller treatments which can be performed in the comfort of your own home. The therapsit is able to use a 1.5mm dermaroller and they are trained to use a local anaesthetic numbing cream which allows them to apply more pressure. For more information on dermarollers or professional dermaroller treatments in the UK, please visit: http://www.dermaroller-planet.com or http://www.ultramodshop.com.

Hi Jean
It is recommended to use a cream or oil which contains vitamins A and E that help the skin to regenerate itself. If you are treating acne scarring, you may find that a product such as Bio-Oil (contains viatmins A and E) would be effective. For information regarding dermarollers and skincare products, please visit: http://www.ultramodshop.com or http://www.dermaroller-planet.com. Hope this helps.

Hi Natalia
The dermaroller size and brand which we recommend for hair loss is the 0.25mm MT dermaroller. It is recommended to use it before using a hair loss product that contains minoxidal. For cellulite, the best size and brand (best value for money) is the 1.5mm MT dermaroller. For information regarding dermarollers and skincare products, please visit: http://www.ultramodshop.com or http://www.dermaroller-planet.com. Hope this helps.

Hi, I want to know this for my husband, which would you recommend for hair loss treatment? and which for cellulite treatment. Thanks
Hi, I wold like to use dermaroller on my stretch marks, deep scar and to several hair loss… can I use the 1,5mm to all of that???
Tks
Hi Ling
The 1.5mm is the ideal size for treating stretch marks. Regarding the scar, it depends where it is. For the face use a 0.5mm, for the head (hair loss) use a 0.25mm with a skin product containing for example minoxidol, for the arms and breast area use a 1.0mm, for the thighs and stomach use a 1.5mm. For information regarding dermarollers and skincare products, please visit: http://www.ultramodshop.com or http://www.dermaroller-planet.com.
Hope this helps

hi ive just recentley bought my second derma roller from you i also recieved a free dermier co2 gel mask i was wondering if you could tell me how to use this has it doesnt fully explain it on the package thanks sandra
Hi again,
.
I have new questions for you
I would like to buy five MNS rollers with two different needle length, three 0.5mm and two 1.5mm. Is there a way that I can get this great value multi packs for all five?
I read on MNS recommendations that 1.0mm needle length is good for skin pigmentation problems removal and I’m buying 0.5mm and 1.5mm needle length. Will the needles I’m going to buy not help me with my skin pigmentation problems?
Cheers
M
I have been using a roller for 12 days and I’ve noticed that my skin seems dry especially, my neck. This has made my skin look worse since starting to roll. Is there an adjustment period? Thank you Tia
Hi Tia
Skin needling can certainly make your skin dry. It is a very common side effect and the it is important that you moisturise after rolling. I would suggest that in addition to applying a moisturiser, you may want to reduce the frequency of your sessions. By this I mean giving an extra day or so rest for your skin to recover between sessions.
You will find a routine which suits your own lifestyle and your own skin. But the most important thing for you to do is moisturise! You will probably already have a product you are already familiar with. If not, consider inexpensive brands such as Dove.
We do have several specialist creams ourselves although these are a little expensive. They are all natural, organic eco friendly type products. They are available only through the Ultramod Shop which is our improved shopping site.
Thanks Tia
Hi Marla
Yes this is definitely possible. As a rule, just select 5 x Free needles advice as you option. This will prompt us to confirm via email what it is that you require. It is a little awkward I appreciate – in response to this, we launched the Ultramod Shop late last year. It is loads easier to use, it has more products on it and all in all, is a lot better.
The other alternative is to simply email us what it is you want and we can send you a paypal/google checkout invoice for payment. We try to be as flexible as possible – any way is fine with us.
With regards your skin pigmentation issues – we have had a lot of contradictory results. I would suggest that it is far from certain that any brand or method of skin needling would help in this area – until we can be sure that it definitely will assist (we run our own feedback mechanisms to keep abreast of success rates), please treat pigmentation treatments with a degree of uncertainty. It is an area we continue to look into.
Hi,
I am 34 and suffer from rosacea and the skin on my face has aged prematurely (both due to the condition itself and the numerous harsh prescription creams my GP has prescribed over the years). I intend to use the Dermaroller over the entire facial area (especially on my cheeks where I have severe open pores). I believe a 0.5mm needle would be suitable for this. How long would a Dermaroller last if I used it 5 days a week until my skin is vastly improved? Also, once I’ve achieved the result I’m happy with, how often must I use the Dermaroller in order to continue reaping the benefits?
Many thanks,
Bev.
Hi Bev.
If you suffer from rosacea on the face, you need to be extremely careful. You are correct with regards to the size. The best size for treating your face is the 0.5mm. If you take care of the dermaroller it will last for approximately 3 months. After achieving your desired results, you could use the dermaroller once or month or less frequent. It’s entirely up to you. For information regarding dermarollers and purchasing products, please visit: http://www.ultramodshop.com or http://www.dermaroller-planet.com. Hope this helps.
Thank you Bev

Hi, I’m very much interested in purchasing the derma roller, but I’m not sure if this is possible to use on my skin, since I’m prone to a keloid scarring. I have also a skin pigmentation on my face and a crows feet.
I would appreciate if you could give me some advice.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks and regards
Cleo
I am still waiting for your reply. Thanks, Cleo
Hi Cleo
Dermarollers are known to be effective with reducing the appearance of hyper pigmentation. If you are prone to keloid scarring, I would be tempted to ask your doctor their opinion on whether it would create scars before using the roller. It is better to be safe. We have had no reports of any dermarollers causing keloid scars. For information on contra-indications to the dermaroller treatment and other dermaroller information, please visit: ww.dermaroller-planet.com or ww.ultramodshop.com.
Thank you Cleo

Hie earlier you were mentioning that you do dermaroller treatments once every 6 weeks.. But u also mentioned it’s ok to use the dermaroller every alternate day.. I just bought a dermaroller for slight pitted scarring.. Im wondering how often should I use it
Hi Hez
Yes that’s correct, I perform professional dermaroller treatments in the UK. Due to me being a Registered Nurse, I am able to use a dermaroller with longer needles and local anaesthetic to numb the skin. This means that I am able to roll deeper than the home use roller. This is why the professional dermaroller treatments should be performed every 6 weeks to allow the skin time to repair itself. You are able to use the home use dermaroller 3 times a week on alternate days. The day off in between allows the skin to repair and regenerate itself. Hope this helps.
Thank you Hez.

Hi I’ve lived with my stretch marks for years and still hate them so much, tryed so many creams with no luck, just orded the 1.5 derma roller, and would like to know which creams are best to use with it? and do they ever go completly?
Hi Tina,
The best type of creams to use are vitamin enriched creams. There is no need to spend ridiculous amounts of money on expensive creams. In fact I’m sure Dove do a vitamin moisturiser that’s fairly cheap. As long as you apply alot of moisture to the area your working on you should be fine.
Many Thanks

Hi,i have to say kudos to you for your very impeccable intuition, you are really doing a good job by the way you reply us in such a lovely and kind manner. Graciàs!i am sam and am from Nigeria, pls.i want to know if i can purchase the dermaroller with a mastercard websurfer?pls.let me know the exact model and price for a dermaroller that is good for pitted scars. Thanks and best regards.
Hi admin, is the derma roller effective on enlarged pores? I mean can long term usage of the roller minimize my large facial pores? Thanks.
Hi, Yes the rollers are effective on large pores, although like anything you may see results straight away or you may see them gradually over some time.
hi there, would like to know if we can still apply makeup / foundation based sunscreen after treatment?
Hi, applying make up, foundation and sun creams will not affect the process at all. It is completely fine to carry out your normal daily routine after rolling.
Hey i asked a question on here last year i brought the dermaroller and did a few treatments but was very put off by not seeing results, i know thats the wrong attitude : ( so again a year later i have brought the 1.5mm dermaroller and i am going to do it properly.
What i want to ask is with my stretch marks, can i apply ly cococ butter palmers cream for more effectivness? or any kind of collagen – elastin cream like st ives? will it provide more effectivness . How often does it take for stertch marks and back light scarring? with the summer fast approaching i’d love to see results by august if possible. i also read that you have a day off between sessions so is mon, wed, fri and sun okay for the 1.5 roller…. sorry for the same question but as i stated i didn’t really see any improvment so was wondering what i was doing wrong
hi admin,
i just ordered ZGTS Titanium 1.5mm for treating my thighs stretch marks, when is the best time i could use it?
could i use it after i take shower on toweled skin?
but usually the skin is soft after hot shower.
thanks
Yes, after you’ve showered and dried off is generally the best time to roll. Like with most things, it is down to personal preference.
Good luck.
Hey,
I purchased a dermaroller at an expensive price 3 or 4 months ago. It has been extremly useful and helpful in the scarring on my face. However, last nigt, I was kneeling down as I put it carefully away when I picked it up tp place the plasitc case into the cardboard one, the plastic case slipped form my hands, with the roller in it, and both ended up on the fllor. I wish to know are the needles too damaged for me to continue use on the face especially? I did not drop it from that great a hiehgt, but I wouldn’t want to risk tearing my skin. How can you tell if needles are bent and is it poss to continue use if you remove these needles etc becuase, I can’t reallly afford another one, they’re so expensive :S ? Xxxxxx
Hi Ellie
I’m glad you’ve been getting on well with it (up to dropping it of course!)
The easiest way to see if the needles are bent is to bring it up to eye level and look down the row of needles. If you can see they’re damaged then I’m afraid there is little you can do. It isn’t possible to remove individual needles. Depending on the model you’ve got, the plastic casing should offer good protection the needles from damage in that way.
As for the expense – it’s worth bearing in mind that all the rollers on dermaroller planet are of sufficient quality to produce good results. This is true from the most expensive roller to the cheapest. Speak to our customer support team and I’m sure they can help you out.
Hallo Hermine
(for non german speakers, Hermione is asking questions which are answered elsewhere on the site)
